How to Let Go of the Past and Step Into God’s Future for You?

Hey, beautiful sister in Christ! 💛 I want to have a heart-to-heart with you today about something that so many of us struggle with—letting go of the past. Maybe your past isn’t something you’re proud of, or maybe you’ve gone through some tough times that left you broken, scarred, or feeling like you’ll never fully heal. Or maybe you’ve just made mistakes that haunt you. But no matter what your past looks like, I want to remind you of something so powerful: God is in the business of healing, restoring, and making all things new. I get it—moving forward can feel like a huge mountain to climb. The weight of what’s behind us can often make us feel stuck, unsure, or unworthy. But God has a beautiful, full, and purposeful future for you. And even though it can be hard to let go of old wounds or regrets, there’s hope in knowing that God’s grace is more than enough to carry us into the future He’s prepared. Here are three simple truths—and Bible verses—that can help you let go of the past and step into God’s amazing future for your life: 1. Your Past Doesn’t Define You. Jesus Does. We often hold onto our past because we feel like it’s attached to who we are—mistakes, regrets, disappointments. But here’s the truth: your identity in Christ is what defines you. God’s Word says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” Sister, that is powerful! In Christ, you are brand new. Your mistakes, your heartbreak, your past struggles—none of that has the final say on who you are. Jesus is the one who gives you a fresh start. So when those past thoughts try to creep up and remind you of who you used to be, remind yourself of who you are now—a beloved daughter of the Most High, forgiven, redeemed, and made whole. 2. God’s Plan for Your Future is Greater Than Anything in Your Past. We all know that feeling—like our best days are behind us or like we’ve missed our shot. But here’s something that always brings me peace: God has a plan for our future, and it’s so much greater than anything we could ever imagine. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us of this promise: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” Even if you’re walking through a season of pain or loss right now, God is still working, sister. He’s still shaping you, still guiding you, and still leading you toward a future that’s filled with hope, purpose, and blessing. Trust Him with your tomorrow, and know that His plan is always better than our own. The future He’s preparing for you is one where He will heal your heart and make all things beautiful in His time. 3. God Wants to Heal Your Heart and Give You Peace. I know it’s not always easy to just “move on” when we’ve been hurt or disappointed. Sometimes it feels like the pain will never fully go away. But God is a healer—He’s not just looking at your past; He’s working in your present to restore and renew you. In Psalm 147:3, it says, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” God sees your pain, and He promises to bring healing to your heart. It’s not always an overnight fix, but if you lean into His love, trust His timing, and surrender those old wounds to Him, He will bring peace. Sometimes that healing comes in quiet moments with Him, other times through conversations with a friend, or maybe even through seeking professional help. Whatever it looks like, know that God is there—gently and faithfully walking you through the process of healing. So, How Do You Let Go of the Past? I know it’s not always easy. I know that moving forward can feel overwhelming, especially when your heart still carries pieces of the past. But I want to encourage you: God is with you in every step. His love is constant, His grace is abundant, and His future for you is bright. So, take a deep breath, let go of the weight of the past, and trust that God has something beautiful waiting for you. He’s not finished with you yet. With love and grace, Julie 💛

Beauty in a Broken Heart: Finding Hope in Jesus

Beauty in a Broken Heart Hey, sweet friend. Valentine’s Day is here—a time when love is celebrated, couples go on dates, and sweet words are exchanged. But not everyone is rejoicing. Maybe you’re scrolling past pictures of happy couples, feeling the sting of loneliness. Maybe your heart is heavy because the one you love is no longer by your side. Or maybe you’re the one who had to walk away, and now you’re left picking up the pieces of your broken heart. If this is you, know that you are not alone. I see you. I know that deep ache in your chest, the kind that makes it hard to breathe. Maybe your heart was shattered by someone you trusted, or maybe life just hasn’t turned out the way you thought it would. A broken heart can feel like the end, but what if I told you it could also be the beginning of something beautiful? Jesus sees your pain. He knows every tear you’ve cried, and He’s not looking away. In fact, He specializes in bringing beauty from brokenness. Psalm 147:3 reminds us, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” That means your story isn’t over, and your pain isn’t wasted. When Brokenness Feels Like the End Heartbreak has a way of making us believe we’re alone, unloved, and beyond repair. The enemy whispers lies: “You’re not enough.” “No one will love you again.” “God has forgotten you.” But friend, those are just that—lies. Jesus offers us truth in the middle of the storm. In Matthew 11:28, He gently calls, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” He isn’t saying, “Fix yourself first and then come.” No, He wants you right here, in your brokenness, with all your questions, doubts, and fears. You don’t have to heal alone. Beauty in the Breaking A broken heart in Jesus’ hands is not a wasted heart. Think about a seed—it has to break open before it grows. A clay jar has to be shattered before the light inside can shine through the cracks. And sometimes, we have to be broken before we truly experience the depth of God’s love. Your heartbreak can be the very thing that leads you closer to Him. Instead of running away from the pain, what if you let Jesus hold it? Instead of letting bitterness take root, what if you surrender it to the One who can redeem even the most shattered pieces? Giving Your Broken Heart to Jesus Surrender doesn’t mean pretending everything is fine. It means opening your hands and saying, “Jesus, I can’t carry this alone. Take it. Heal me. Lead me.” And He will. He always does. Isaiah 61:3 says He gives “a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.” What an incredible promise! Your broken heart isn’t the end of your story—it’s the place where Jesus begins something new.
