Finding Comfort in God’s Promises
Hey friend,
I don’t know what you’re going through right now, but if you’re feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or just plain broken, I want to remind you of something: God is with you, bringing you comfort. He sees your pain, hears your cries, and holds you close—even when it doesn’t feel like it.
I’ve had my fair share of struggles—moments where I’ve cried out to God, wondering if He’s really there. And every single time, He gently reminds me through His Word that He never leaves me alone. So today, I want to share with you some of my favorite Bible verses that bring me comfort in times of trial.
1. When You Feel Afraid
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10
Fear can be paralyzing. Whether it’s fear of the unknown, fear of failure, or fear of losing something dear, it can feel suffocating. But God reminds us here that we don’t have to be afraid because He is holding us up. We may feel weak, but His strength carries us.
2. When Life Feels Like Too Much
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.”
Psalm 46:1-2
Have you ever felt like the ground beneath you was crumbling? Like everything you once relied on was shaken? I have. But this verse reminds me that even when everything seems to be falling apart, God remains unshaken. He is my safe place, my anchor in the storm.
3. When You Feel Weary
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Jesus isn’t asking us to carry our burdens alone. He’s inviting us to give them to Him. If you’re feeling tired—physically, emotionally, or spiritually—He wants to trade your exhaustion for His peace.
4. When You Wonder If God Has a Plan
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
Romans 8:28
Sometimes, life doesn’t make sense. Trials come out of nowhere, and we’re left wondering, “God, what are You doing?” But this verse is a promise that even when we can’t see it, God is working all things for our good. His plans are always greater than our pain.
5. When You’re Going Through the Fire
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
James 1:2-4
Joy in trials? That sounds crazy, right? But what James is saying here is that God is refining us through our struggles. He’s strengthening our faith, building our endurance, and shaping us into who He’s called us to be. Trials don’t mean God has abandoned us; they mean He’s growing us.
6. When You Need to Walk by Faith
“For we live by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7
Sometimes, we don’t see the answer right away. We don’t see the healing, the provision, or the breakthrough. But that doesn’t mean God isn’t working. Faith means trusting God even when we don’t have all the answers.
7. When You Need to Know You’re Not Alone
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Deuteronomy 31:8
One of the biggest lies the enemy tries to tell us is that we’re alone. That no one understands. That even God has forgotten us. But friend, God is right there with you. He promises never to leave or forsake you.
8. When You Feel Like Giving Up
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Galatians 6:9
There are moments when we feel like all our efforts are in vain. Maybe you’ve been praying for something for a long time and haven’t seen the answer yet. Maybe you’re doing your best to stay faithful, but life keeps throwing obstacles your way. This verse reminds us to keep going. God sees your faithfulness, and in His perfect timing, you will see the fruit of what He’s doing in your life.
9. When You Need God’s Peace
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6-7
Anxiety can creep in so easily, especially when we feel like we’re not in control. But God doesn’t just tell us not to worry—He gives us the solution. Instead of holding onto our stress, we are invited to pray and surrender our burdens to Him. And in return? He gives us His supernatural peace—a peace that doesn’t always make sense but is exactly what our hearts need.
10. When You Feel Weak
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
2 Corinthians 12:9
Sometimes, we feel like we have to be strong all the time, like we need to have it all together. But God isn’t asking us to be strong on our own. In fact, it’s in our weakness that His power is made perfect. If you’re feeling drained, exhausted, or completely empty, lean into His grace. He is more than enough.

God’s Comfort Is for Every Season
Through every season—whether it’s heartbreak, uncertainty, waiting, or loss—God’s Word remains true. His comfort isn’t just for the good days, it’s for the darkest nights too.
I don’t know what you’re facing today, but I do know this: God is holding you. He is working in ways you can’t even see. Keep holding onto Him. Keep trusting His promises. And when you feel weak, run to His Word, because His truth will always be your refuge.

With love and faith,
Julie
